Safe and Sound

"I remember tears streaming down your face When I said, I'll never let you go When all those shadows almost killed your light. I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone. But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight. Just close your eyes The sun is going down You'll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound"

While you're far away and dreaming

For you die-hard Aerosmith fans out there, I know thats not the title of the song, Its "Don't want ot miss a thing.". That line though, is much more suiting.
While all of the orphans are dreaming, of a better life, a family, filling food, I'm in school, thinking of them. Thinking of how greedy I feel when I march down to the lunch room, pull my burrito out of my lunch box, and chow down. I feel guilty even when I'm stuck at my mom's work some days after school. Its warm, I'm around people who love me and I have entertainment. And when I'm supposed to be "far away and dreaming" (aka lying there awake at 3am) I'll think about what G's doing. 2pm, hmm, she's in school. Whats P doing? She's too young to go to school. Is some one there to play with her, or just make sure she doesn't do any thing bad?
What about you? What are you thinking about when you're "far away and dreaming"? Or tossing and turning, or wandering out to the kitchen to see what you're dog's barking at. Is there a little girl or boy over there that you need to adopt? There is for me. There is for many of you. Some already have them home. Others are still trying to bring them home. I just wish they knew that there were so many people over here who want them. Wish they knew. Don't you?
I used to think that I was poor. Me? Poor? Ha! Just look at the world around us! Sure, we're not rich, but by the worlds standards, we are!
There's a Bible story that goes something along the lines of "There was a poor man begging for money, a rich man walks by, with $100, and gives half. A poor woman walks by, who has $0.01. She gives a penny. Who gave more?"  Now, answer. Most of you will say the rich man. But, that is not true. The rich man only gave half. The poor woman, gave all that she had to help others. Now, I feel like the poor woman, struggling a bit yourself, but giving everything to someone even less fortunate than you. Though, I'm not struggling.
So, tonight, while your "Far away and dreaming", think of the kids over there, and what they need you for. You'll find your self on a plane over there too.

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
