Safe and Sound

"I remember tears streaming down your face When I said, I'll never let you go When all those shadows almost killed your light. I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone. But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight. Just close your eyes The sun is going down You'll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound"

Wow!

Let me start this blog out with a big, WOW! Yesterday was Friday. I went to school with Mrs. Flynns sock, and a few more, for exta selling. Let me tell you, My french teacher is very, Extremely, generous! She bought one for herself and 9 for the orphanage. Thats a total of 10! 10! 10! $50 worth! I'm amazed. Mrs. Flynn bought two more, thats $15 from her. My math/science teacher bought one and my favorite teacher,Ms. Rosenzwieg, bought Fabio. $10 there. Then my two friends Kayla and Tyler bought one each, $10, add that together...$75! And there are people who want some but want to see the animal first before they buy. And I was swarmed with people, who I don't know, kids of course, all from my school. I need assistants for all of these! And, I owe a big round of applause to Michelle, WOW. She is special! She made up flyers and is now selling them to her 8th grade friends! If your there, THANKS MICHELLE! Well, off to make more! Yikes!

First socks, Sherlock, Fabio and Bill

These are the first sock animals to be sold! Sherlock has already been sold to my art teacher, Thanks Mrs. Flynn!
Fabio
Bill
Sherlock!

These little guys are made out of orphaned socks! The pictures dont have stuffing in them, as I am getting stuffing today!

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends

How high will the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know
And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon

For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind

You can own the Earth and still
All you'll own is Earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind

Colors of the wind

Only Human

As I'm sitting in my thinky chair, I'm thinking about people who MUST be better than everyone. They MUST outdo all of them. You don't HAVE to. Its a choice that people make. Sometimes for the worse. Do you really want to go down in history as the person who ate 50 hot-dogs in less than 12 minutes. I hope thats an automatic no from all of you. You want to go down in history as the person who changed America. Think about it! Choice:
1. Say a swear every 3 seconds, wear tight jeans, call everybody that doesn't agreee with you a b****
2. Be comfortable, compliment everyone on SOMETHING, and make the most of every second as if you were to die the next?

Whats the better option? You're choice. What do you want to do with your life...? I'm taking JFKs quote, changing it a little, and giving creddit to him. Ask not what others can do for you, ask wht you can do for others.
Today is the 50th anneversary of his innoguration. He is my all time FAVORITE president, next to Lincolon. He belived in equal rights for everyone. So did MLK. I don't think that people should be excluded because of thier a)race b)abilities c)Appearence.
Tomorrow I'm heading off to a weekend with my best friend. She doesn't quite get all of this yet, but she's getting there. Anyway, She has a disability, But IT DOESN'T STOP HER!!!!!! She was born with no left hand. People pick on her and taunt her, but she's one of the strongest (mentally) people that I know. And one of the Happiest. Point being is that theres a whole weekend dedicated to people like her. Some with NO ARMS! When I arrive, I start to feel so bad for all of these kids and adults. But then, that felling goes away, as I realize they are all just like us. Normal people, living normal lives. Some of them are mosre spectacular. Like Jeff. He's like Katie (My friend), no hand. That doesn't stop him from being one of the most amazing guitarists I know. Last year he even invited us (Katie and I) to go to his house and do a recording session with him! He lives in Connecticut, so, we couldn't, But he is so kind!
They all get it. They get the main goal in life. They understand that not everyone understands. They know that people discriminate them and put them underneath themselves. They don't care! Happiness is an ocean for them! Well, I bid you two adeau!

"But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you.
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new.
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I love you more."
                                                              - - -Beatles "In My Life"

Oh, and these boys and girls, they are more than only human.

I woke up this morning,
Smiled with the rising sun,
Three little birds,
Perched on my doorstep,
Singing their sweet song,
A melody pue and true,
This is my message to you ooh-ooh
-Bob Marley
Three little birds

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side.
The summer's gone and all the flowers are dying
Yet you, yet you, must go and I must bide.
(Thats to Katies dad...his favorite song)

Well, G'night! And think about the lyrics to row row row your boat...just think about the real meaning of them

Thoughts and things to change in kids of america...

So, today, I'm being thinky. DON'T TRY TO CORRECT THIS! When I'm being thinky, i don't spell correctly, or use proper grammar for that matter.
So, I'm just writing my thoughts. I realize that I use the word "so" a lot. So, I vow to use that word less, so far thats not going to well. So, here goes my thoughts.
Why did Adam kill himself (character in my book...had autism, I think). He seemed so happy all the time. My heart is just filled with love today, not towards a specific person, but towards the world. I'm also not talking not right...no...not talking right...see?
When in french, I said "Hola, Ca-va? Arre-toi...Bonjour! Como esta?...No, Hello! How are you...and don't try to make me say it right!"
But over all, Today was a grate day! There are so many people who have love to just give out! I say, Wear a sign around your neck saying "I'm different and I don't care! Call me a freak, call me a psycho! I DON'T CARE WORLD!"
Now, Joe, There needs to be more Joe's in this world.
He's one of those people in the world who isn't good looking, but doesn't care what the world thinks! He hands out kindness like lollipops, even to people who call him oh-so-not-nice things. There are then, of course, the others, the boys with shaggy hair who flip it every three seconds, who never do their homework, who are loud and obnoxious. Enough about the worst. More about the good. But the good is rare. The good is a gem in a field of mines. Cherish the good when you can find them. The girls, Tight jeans, or PJs, whatever strikes their fancy, tight shirts...but those are the commoners. The good, aren't as rare as kind boys, but, like the California gold-rush, lots of them but hidden away in the many who are fakes. Thats a typical 7th grade classroom for you.
So all of you, many who don't listen yet, DON'T BE AFRAID TO MARCH TO A DIFFERENT DRUMMER! Or if you feel like it, your own off-beat, rainbow, tap-dancing, kazoo.

I'm looking at that man in the mirror,
I'm asking him to change his ways
-Michael Jackson
1980-something
I'm going to sleep well tonight, knowing that people (Or just my mom and Keri) know whats important.

All love in my little-big heart
-Bridget
And for once, Brad said something that made me smile,"Big bear, big ole claws, RAAA!"

I'll go on & on forever

So, today, I was watching Good Morning America. They were doing this thing on MLK. At some point, they said a quote. This quote fits Keri, Mom, and I.

"What are you doing for others?
Life's most important question."

I fell asleep with a flurrie of thoughts in my head. Mainly about orphans, socks, and what to bring to Siberia. By the way, the sock thing is WAY more sucessful than I thought it would be! 5 orders already! So find all of your 'orphaned' socks and send 'em over!!!!!
(if you live far away...Emmy...I'll send you my adress via email), Back to the original path (think I have ADD?). So any way, what was I talking about again? Right! So, Siberia, February...COOOOOLD!

If my socks are sucessful enough, heres what I'll bring:

Wool socks (if theres any left.lol)
Warm winter coat
Long-johns
Feety pajamas (yes, at 12 I still have them)
Gloves
Scarf
Hat
Sweaters
Winter boots
Hand warmers
Sock stuffed animals.

Now, from now on, I am going to put a quote on the bottom of each post.
Todays is:

All you need is love

Error

ERROR!
The title of this blog should not be "Marching to a different drummer" but "Marching to my own green kazoo"
:)
Have a happy life!

Sock animals and love

Okay, so, I'm new here!

This all started over a sock. Yes, a single, wool sock from the land of the lonely socks.(A bin at the end of my moms bed for all of the socks that dont have familys:()
So, yesterday was a snow-day, and so is today. I made a sock stuffed-animal and looked at it and thought,"Hmm, These could make money.
As most of you know, some of you may not, but MOST, I might be going to Siberia next month. Voluntarily, In FEBRUARY! You may think I'm nuts, but trust me, I'm not.
So, back to the sock. I was thinking that I could make a bunch of them, and sell them for $5. Either the buyer could keep it, or if the buyer is too old, they can buy one to donate to and "orphan of choice"
     There you have it.

SOCK ANIMALS FOR SALE
$5
Here's the e-mail that I sent
So, as most of you know, I may be going to Russia next month (Yes, Siberia, In February! Geez!) To help orphans.
What most of you DON'T know, is that it cost about $1,000 for plane tickets, each person. That's $2,000. We cannot afford that!
So, since today was a snow day (yippee!), I was soooooo bored!
I put all of the blankets in the whole house on my bed, and then jumped on it, much fun!
I made 2 quesadillas, and ate them.
     And I made a sock-stuffed-animal.

This is what I was thinking (literal.) with all interruptions included:
Me-in-mind:Hmm, This could be a good fund-raiser for our trip to Russia. I could charge $5 for each one and either give one to the buyer-
Brad:BRIDGET!!!!!
Me-out-loud: What?
Brad:What's this???
Me-out-loud:I don't know, go ask mom!
Brad:Ok...
Me-in-mind:The buyer could either get one or they could pay and have the one they paid for go to an orphan...Of course, I need socks...

So that's pretty much my ideas.

$5, A sock (NO ANKLE SOCKS!) and a heart will help orphans and me!
They have button noses, eyes and a sewn smile!
They're really cute!
Have a heart,
Do your part,
Help make the world a better place!
